To date, George holds 25 REALTOR® certifications and designations, including the coveted CRS (Certified Residential Specialist). This is a certification held by only 3% of all REALTORS® nationwide. He also takes every class and earns every government-sponsored certification offering knowledge that he deems valuable to his clients.

While George enjoys helping every client, most of his work is centered on commercial investments and resort / second homes. He especially enjoys traversing Lake Wallenpaupack‘s 52 miles of shoreline to help people find that “just right” resort home or second home.

Real estate is George’s second career. He spent more than 20 years in the corporate world as a marketing and advertising executive responsible for creating and implementing sales and marketing programs for a New York Stock Exchange retail company with more than 250 million dollars in annual sales.

When he retired he intended to simply enjoy life on Lake Wallenpaupack with his wife and family, but retirement wasn’t for him. Within 6 months he began a new career in real estate.

Wholeheartedly embracing that new career, in 1998 George purchased a RE/MAX franchise.  Before long, RE/MAX of Lake Wallenpaupack North became the most successful RE/MAX franchise in Northeast Pennsylvania and George began showing up on top producer lists. RE/MAX and Realtor Magazine listed him in the top 100 Agents nation-wide.  He consistently rates in the top 1% for both sales and listings among all agents in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

In 2010 George took his business in a new direction. Impressed with the high standards exhibited by Davis R. Chant’s 50-year old Chant Realtors, he effected a merger which made Chant the most powerful realty company in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

With more than 80 agents in 5 offices, Chant Realtors now outsells and out-lists all of its competition. In 2018 Davis R. Chant Realtors and the Chant Team rated #1 in the Pike/Wayne MLS for both number of sales and total sales volume. The Chant Team out sold its competition by 3 to 1 and controls over 25% of the total Market Share.

His files contain more than 1050 testimonials from satisfied clients, many of whom cite his success in selling their homes quickly after other agents were unsuccessful even after a year or more. It’s no wonder such a large percentage of his new clients come to him through their referrals.

George is quick to say he hasn’t done it alone. He credits much of his success to Beth Derrick,who has been his assistant for more than 19 years. Along with George, Beth is Certified e-Pro and is a Certified Negotiation Expert. The two are also assisted by three back-up staff members, all of whom have been with them for several years.

When not working, George enjoys boating, fishing, and his work with Hospice. He has been a trained Hospice volunteer for 20 years, and he treasures the relationships he has built with the patients and their families.

George and his wife own a second home in Key West, Florida, where the fishing is good even when Pennsylvania is buried in a blanket of snow.
